General FAQ

1)       Do i need my computer to be on ?

  1. No, our device connects directly to your modem so you do need a computer for this to wrok

2)       What do i need in order to get the live streaming set up for my mosque?

  1. Please contact us and we will talk to you about adding your mosque to our live streaming servers.

3)       Does this work even if I live very far from the Masjid ?

  1. yes! you can use our device anywhere in the world as long as you have a broadband internet connection and a wifi router/modem

4)       Why is it so expensive?

  1. By buying this device you are not only paying just for the device but for all of the technology behind it as well as the large monthly running cost to run our servers so while you only pay a once of fee, we have to cover all of the cost involved in live streaming every month. Additionally in order to get each Mosque onto our network we need to outlay and continually upgrade transmitting devices and software.

The end user receiver itself is customised and purchased directly from our manufacturers as we could not find an off the shelf alternative that offered all of the features we required to deliver this service.

 

Troubleshooting FAQ

1)       I am getting a connecting / connection error

  1. This is a normal display situation for when the device is attempting to connect to the Mosque while the Mosque is not streaming. Note: the Mosque only streams as specified times. It is best to ignore this error unless you are not getting regular transmissions

2)       I performed the setup as per the instruction but my device is not working

  1. Press the left arrow until you come to the home screen (it has My mediaU on top) then press down until you come to Configuration then press ok. Then scroll down to the last option reset to default – press ok and follow the setup instructions again

3)       How do I move from one menu to the next – Eg from Islamic radio stations to Mosques

  1. Use the up, down, left and right arrows along with the OK button on your remote

4)       How do I adjust the volume

  1. We suggest you adjust the volume using the round volume control on the speaker unit itself – you can also adjust it press the top right “vol +” button the remote – Note that you should press on the top half of the button to ensure it makes contact

5)       My screen is showing that it is playing but I cannot hear anything

  1. Check if all of the audio cords are plugged in
  2. Check if the speakers are plugged in and switched on (a green light will come on the speakers)
  3. Turn the volume knob on the speakers and press the volume up on the remote
  4. Power cycle your Receiver – (unplug it at the powerpoint, wait for 10 seconds and plug it in again)

6)       How do I change the wireless network selected

  1. Go to the configuration menu on the home screen, then wireless network, then wireless network configuration

7)       Will I get additional mosques added to my station automatically

  1. Yes, we are trying to sign up as many Mosques as we can – to update your listings you need to power cycle your Receiver – inshallah we will update you as we add more Mosques

8)       My remote is not working

  1. Ensure you are pointing the remote at the device
  2. Power cycle your Receiver – (unplug it at the powerpoint, wait for 10 seconds and plug it in again)
